Counselling and Psychotherapy in East Devon

Hello and welcome to the Grow Psychotherapy blog — a space for exploring what happens in the therapy room. My name is Belinda Gidman-Rowse (MCAP, MNCPS Acc.) I am a Counsellor & Psychotherapist based in East Devon. At Grow Psychotherapy, I offer a safe, confidential and supportive therapeutic environment where you can explore what’s troubling you and begin your journey towards greater self-compassion, growth and healing.

Supporting You Through Life’s Challenges

Life can be difficult, and it’s not always easy to talk about what we’re going through. Whether you're experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, or a sense of being lost or disconnected, therapy can help.

I offer counselling and psychotherapy in East Devon, supporting clients from areas including Exmouth, Sidmouth, Honiton, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Ottery St Mary, Axminster, Exeter aswell as across the UK and Europe. My aim is to meet you where you are and help you grow in your own time and way.

What to Expect from Therapy

Taking the first step into therapy can feel daunting, especially if it’s your first time. Being vulnerable and looking at our emotions and inner workings is not easy work, but it is deeply rewarding and can be utterly transformative.

During therapy, you can expect me to give you space to reflect and observe as well as gently challenge you aswell. We work within a 50 minute session, ideally on a weekly basis. We will set therapy goals at the start of our period of work together, and review along the way. I welcome feedback about how therapy is working for you - that way we can co-create the experience together to make it work for you.

My approach is warm, respectful, and tailored to you as an individual. Whether you're looking for short-term counselling to manage a specific issue or longer-term psychotherapy for deeper exploration, I offer a flexible, client-centered approach.

Sessions are available in-person in a peaceful East Devon setting, as well as online if you prefer the convenience and comfort of your own home. My work hours are Tuesday - Thursday between 10am -3pm.
